Beth Cordingly (born Rebecca Cordingly on 1 November 1977) is an English actress, most famous for her role as PC Kerry Young in the ITV police drama The Bill.
Rebecca 'Beth' Cordingly was born on 1 November 1977 in Brighton. She started acting at a young age and made her first major television appearance in the soap opera, Family Affairs as troubled teenager Sara Warrington; a lapdancer who blew most of her wages on cocaine. Beth started out in theatre, playing roles in adaptions of Othello and Noel Coward's Semi-Monde. At secondary school, Brighton and Hove High School, she was well known for her lead roles in plays, and her enthusiasm for acting and singing.
In 2002, she joined The Bill as PC Kerry Young, which became her biggest role and one of the show's much loved characters. After her departure from the show when her character was brutually murdered in 2004, she then went on to appear as a stripper in the comedy series Funland in 2005.
Alongside her acting career, she continues to be an active ambassador to the Anti-Bullying Alliance, notably speaking at the Anti-bullying week conference 2006, at Westminster Central Hall. She is also a supporter of ChildLine and Amnesty International and ran the London Marathon in 2004.
