Dvorak´s most famous composition for piano trio is a collection of six "Dumky", ballade-style tales with sections quickly alternating between temperamental dances and intimate, almost fairytale moments, and originally of Ukrainian origin. In this music, Dvorak´s love for his own countries´ folk music comes to full shine, comparable in phantasy and characterization to his Slavonic Dances.
