Melanie Oesch ist die Sängerin von Oesch’s die Dritten und jodelt. Sie wurde am 14. Dezember 1987 geboren und wuchs in der Nähe von Thun im Kanton Bern auf und besuchte in Thun das Musikgymnasium. Sie trat schon im Alter von fünf Jahren mit ihrem Vater Hansueli und ihrem Grossvater an Geburtstagen, Hochzeiten und Unterhaltungsabenden auf. 2008 wurde sie zur Thunerin des Jahres 2007 gewählt. Sie spielte 2008 die Rolle der Melanie in dem Film Das Musikhotel am Wolfgangsee. Angebote für eine Solo-Karriere lehnte sie bislang ab.
