Aya Sumika was born Aya Sumika Koenig on August 22, 1980 in Miami, Florida. She grew up in Seattle, Washington.

She is an American actress who is currently best known for her semi-recurring role as FBI Agent Liz Warner in the television series Numb3rs.
She also had a small role on an episode of The O.C. as Erin, Carter's date in Season 2, 2004.

Her mother is of Japanese ancestry and her father is of European ancestry.

Her role model is her Aunt Kim, who is the reigning "Mrs. Bainbridge Island."
