Amanda Jane Herrmann (born September 16, 1980) is an American model and actress, better known by her stage name, AJ Alexander. She was the Playmate of the Month for the May 2008 issue of Playboy magazine.

Early life

Alexander, who is of German, English and Native American descent, started performing in commercials for her father's putt-putt golf business when she was 9 years old. she trained as a dental assistant. Eventually she moved to Orange County, California to pursue a full-time career as a model.

Career

She will make her film debut in the upcoming comedy American Summer, in which she plays a deaf DJ.

Playboy

Prior to being selected as Playmate, Alexander appeared in Playboy Special Editions Hot Housewives and Sexy 100 in 2007.

During the shoot of American Summer, Alexander was encouraged to pose for the magazine by former Playmate Jennifer Walcott. Alexander sent in pictures to Playboy and was eventually selected as Miss May 2008. Alexander's pictorial has a NASCAR theme and featured her as a driver and a mechanic of a customized Nissan 350Z for Playboy Racing. Her pictorial and centerfold were shot by photographer Arny Freytag.

Personal life

Alexander has 2 tattoos, one on her right wrist for the Chinese character of "love", the other is an off-center lower back tattoo of a butterfly just above her right butt cheek. She has 2 sons. She splits her time between her sons in Evansville and her career in California.
