Samara Jade Weaving (born 23 February 1992 Adelaide, South Australia, ) is an Australian actress known for her role as Kirsten Mulroney in the Australian-produced BBC TV series Out Of The Blue and also for playing Indigo Walker on Australia's most successful soap opera Home and Away.
Family and early life
Weaving was born in Adelaide, but grew up in Singapore, Fiji and Indonesia. When living in Jakarta, Indonesia, she attended Pattimura Elementary School. She then returned to Australia in 2004 and attended The Pittwater House Schools on Sydney's Northern Beaches prior to entering Canberra Girls' Grammar School. She has performed in short films, dance and stage shows, with Singapore Dance Company, Canberra Youth Theatre and school productions. Samara has one younger sister and is the niece of Australian actor Hugo Weaving.
Career
Weaving played the character Kirsten Mulroney in the 2008 TV series Out of the Blue. A first series (129 episodes) was commissioned by the BBC. A second series was not commissioned.
Weaving appeared in the Australian soap opera Home and Away, playing the character Indigo Walker in 2009.As of June 30th 2010, Samara has returned to Home and Away with the rest of the Walker family.
