Futurama
 

Futurama ist eine Science-Fiction-Trickfilmserie von Matt Groening und David X. Cohen, die unter anderem mit drei Emmy-Awards ausgezeichnet wurde. Die erste Folge wurde von dem US-amerikanischen Fernsehsender FOX am 28. März 1999 ausgestrahlt.

Futurama spielt zu Beginn des 31. Jahrhunderts und erzählt vom Alltag und den Abenteuern der befreundeten Mitarbeiter des Lieferunternehmens Planet Express mit Sitz in Neu New York.

Zu Beginn des 31. Jahrhunderts erwacht der trottelige Fry aus seinem kryostatischen Tiefschlaf, in den er vor genau 1000 Jahren versehentlich versetzt wurde. Als Angestellter des interplanetaren Lieferdienst Planet Express erlebt er verrückte Abenteuer in der Welt der fernen Zukunft: Oft stellt ein Lieferauftrag zu einem entfernten Planeten oder eine neue Erfindung von Professor Farnsworth, Besitzer des Planet Express und einziger noch lebender Verwandter Frys, ihn und seine Kollegen vor herausfordernde Aufgaben.

Statt sich um eine kohärente Darstellung einer fiktiven Zukunft zu bemühen,
persifliert Futurama in seinen abgeschlossenen Folgen Themen der Gegenwart und bekannte Klischees des Science-Fiction-Genres.
