"The Legend of Korra" spielt 70 Jahre nach "Der Herr der Elemente". Die Hauptrolle spielt Korra, der Avatar nach Aang. Sie ist ein Mädchen vom südlichen Wasserstamm und im Gegensatz zu Aang ist sie unabhängiger und nicht so "brav". Sie beherrscht am Anfang der Serie auch schon drei Elemente - Wasser, Erde und Feuer. Sie muss also nur noch das Luftbändigen erlernen. Ihre Reise bringt sie ins Epizentrum der modernen Avatar-Welt, "Republic City". Diese Stadt besitzt neue Technologien - dort leben und treffen sich Leute aus der ganzen Welt, Bändiger und Nichtbändiger. Korra bemerkt jedoch, dass sich in Republic City eine Untergrund-"Anti-Bändiger"-Revolution entwickelt.
Begleitet wird Korra von Tenzin, Aangs Sohn. So wie ich den englischen Text verstanden habe, beherrscht dieser das Luftbändigen und trainiert Korra anscheinend darin.Die Serie ist auch von den Machern der ersten Serie, Michael DiMartino und Bryan Konietzko.
