Dolores O’Riordan
 

Dolores Mary Eileen O’Riordan (* 6. September 1971 in Ballybricken) ist eine irische Sängerin und Songwriterin.

Sie war von 1990 bis 2003 die Frontsängerin der Rockgruppe The Cranberries und kooperierte schon einige Male alleine mit anderen Künstlern (z.B. Zucchero, Luciano Pavarotti), bis sie 2003 ihre Solokarriere startete. In den Jahren 2001, 2002 und 2005 trat sie im Weihnachtskonzert im Vatikan auf, sowie 2006 im Weihnachtskonzert in Monte Carlo. Ihr erstes Soloalbum „Are You Listening?“ erschien 2007. Es verkaufte sich bisher 300.000 mal weltweit.

O’Riordan ist seit 1994 mit Don Burton, dem ehemaligen Tourmanager von Duran Duran, verheiratet und hat vier Kinder: Taylor, Molly, Dakota Rain sowie Stiefsohn Donny.

Im September 2003 erkrankte O'Riordans Schwiegermutter so sehr, daß ein Weiterarbeiten für O'Riordan unter diesen Umständen nicht möglich war und sich The Cranberries trennten. Kurz darauf verstarb O'Riordans Schwiegermutter.

O’Riordan sang später die Titelmelodie Ave Maria zum Film Die Passion Christi.
