Gwyneth Katherine Paltrow (* 27. September 1972 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, USA) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Paltrow ist die Tochter der Schauspielerin Blythe Danner und des Regisseurs Bruce Paltrow (unter ihm spielte sie in Traumpaare). Gwyneth Paltrow verbrachte den Sommer immer mit ihren Eltern in Berkshire, wo ihre Mutter Theater spielte. Sie schnupperte also schon früh Theaterluft und so war es keine große Überraschung, dass sie im Alter von fünf Jahren zum ersten Mal selbst auf der Bühne stand. Sie blieb dem Theater treu und konnte sich Sommer für Sommer verbessern. Steven Spielberg, ein langjähriger Freund ihres Vaters, ist ihr Patenonkel und sorgte für ihren ersten Filmauftritt in Hook.

Für ihre Darstellung der Viola De Lesseps in Shakespeare in Love wurde Paltrow 1998 mit dem Oscar für die beste weibliche Hauptrolle ausgezeichnet.

Nach Beziehungen zu Brad Pitt und Ben Affleck heiratete Paltrow am 5. Dezember 2003 in Kalifornien Chris Martin, Sänger der britischen Band Coldplay. Am 14. Mai 2004 wurde die gemeinsame Tochter Apple Blythe Alison in London geboren. („Blythe“ ist der Vorname von Paltrows Mutter, „Alison“ ist der Name von Martins Mutter.) Am 9. April 2006 brachte Paltrow in New York ihr zweites Kind, einen Jungen namens Moses Bruce Anthony, zur Welt. So wie bei Apple die beiden Großmütter Namenspaten sind, sind der zweite und dritte Name von Moses die Vornamen von Paltrows und Martins Vätern.
