Laura Harring
 

Laura Elena Harring (* 3. März 1964 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexiko) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Leben

Laura Harring wurde 1964 in Mexiko geboren. Sie lebte die ersten zehn Jahre in diesem Land, bevor die Familie nach San Antonio, Texas umsiedelte. Im Alter von 16 studierte sie am berühmten Aiglon College (Gymnasium) in der Schweiz. Nach dem Studium ging sie zurück in die USA und nahm erfolgreich an mehreren Miss-Wahlen teil. Sie war unter anderem Miss El Paso und Miss Texas. Laura Harring war die erste Hispanoamerikanerin die 1985 zur Miss USA gewählt wurde. 1987 heiratete sie den deutschen Carl-Eduard von Bismarck, jedoch wurde die Ehe zwei Jahre später wieder geschieden. Sie führt noch heute den Namen Gräfin von Bismarck-Schönhausen.

Nach der Scheidung entschloss sich Laura Harring Theater an der London Academy of Performing Arts zu studieren. Am Anfang ihrer Filmkarriere war sie oft in Serien wie Sunset Beach, Baywatch, Blossom oder Frasier zu sehen. Ihren größten Erfolg hatte sie mit der Rolle der Rita in dem Film Mulholland Drive von David Lynch. Seit diesem Film war sie in vielen Filmen meist in kleineren Rollen zu sehen, wie in John Q oder The Punisher. Zurzeit ist sie bei der Serie The Shield – Gesetz der Gewalt angestellt.
