Lily Rose Beatrice Allen (* 2. Mai 1985 in Hammersmith, London) ist eine englische Popsängerin. Der kommerzielle Durchbruch gelang ihr im Sommer 2006 mit ihrer Debütsingle Smile.

Allen wurde als Tochter des Schauspielers und Komödianten Keith Allen und der Filmproduzentin Allison Owen geboren. Ihre Eltern trennten sich, als sie vier Jahre alt war. Folge der Trennung war fehlende Sesshaftigkeit. Zwischen ihrem sechsten und ihrem fünfzehnten Lebensjahr besuchte sie vierzehn verschiedene Schulen. Wiederholt wurde sie auch verwiesen. Schließlich kam sie auf ein Internat, das sie mit 15 Jahren verließ. Allen kam früh mit Drogen in Berührung. Nach eigener Aussage befand sie sich zwischen 16 und 19 Jahren die meiste Zeit im Cannabisrausch. Während eines Familienurlaubs auf Ibiza lernte sie den Musikagenten George Lamb kennen, der sie mit den Musikproduzenten Future Cut in Kontakt brachte. Nachdem die ihre selbstgeschriebenen Liedtexte lasen, schrieben sie auf dieser Basis einige Titel. Allen sandte ihre Demobänder an verschiedene Plattenfirmen. Schließlich erhielt sie Ende 2005 einen Vertrag bei Regal Records (Parlophone/EMI).

Obwohl ihre erste Single Smile zu einer der Bestverkauften im UK 2006 zählte und sich das Album Alright, still nicht als minder erfolgreich heraus stellte, ging sie bei der Verleihung der Brit-Awards 2007 (4 Nominierungen in den Kategorien: Sängerin, Album, Song, Newcomer) jedoch vollkommen leer aus. Lily Allen ist auch auf Robbie Williams letztem Album Rudebox als Backgroundsängerin zu hören, unter anderen auf Bong Bong and Je ne t´aime plus und Keep On.

Lily Allen ist in letzter Zeit stark in Kritik geraten nachdem sie in ihrem Blog verschiedene Indie-Musiker wie z. B. Carl Barât oder The Kooks zum Teil beschimpfte oder sich über den gesamten Musikstil echauffierte. Allerdings coverte sie später in Jo Whiley’s Live Lounge den Titel Naïve welcher im Original von The Kooks stammte, um zu zeigen, dass ihre Kommentare nicht böse gemeint waren. Ebenfalls anzumerken ist, dass Allen eine Zeit lang mit Luke Pritchard von The Kooks eine Privatschule besuchte.
