Kelly Rutherford
 

Kelly Rutherford (* 6. November 1968 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Ihre Filmkarriere begann Ende der 1980er Jahre, als sie in Fernsehproduktionen wie „Homefront“, „Die Abenteuer des Brisco County jr.“ und „No Greater Love“ einem breiteren Publikum in den Vereinigten Staaten bekannt wurde. Es folgten Hollywoodproduktionen wie „Scream 3“, „I love Trouble“ (mit Julia Roberts, Nick Nolte) und „Swimming Upstream“, sowie zahlreiche Rollen in US-Fernsehserien und Kurzfilmen, wie beispielsweise die Megan Mancini in der Fernsehserie Melrose Place. Ebenso spielte sie in Serien wie „Gererations“ und „Threat Matrix“. Zusammen mit Benjamin Bratt und Dennis Hopper war sie in der Jerry Bruckheimer–Produktion „E-Ring“ im Fernsehen zu sehen. Aktuell spielt sie in der amerikanischen Erfolgsserie Gossip Girl, die seit September 2007 in den USA ausgestrahlt wird.

Privat engagiert sie sich beim Step Up Women Network, einer Vereinigung, deren Ziel es ist Frauen in der Gesellschaft bessere Voraussetzungen und Chancen zu verschaffen und damit bessere Zukunftsperspektiven zu bereiten. Eine ganze Reihe erfolgreicher US-amerikanischer Frauen tritt in diesem Netzwerk ehrenamtlich für die Frauenrechte ein.

Kelly Rutherford ist seit 2006 mit dem deutschen Postunternehmer Daniel Giersch verheiratet mit dem sie seit Oktober 2006 einen gemeinsamen Sohn hat.
