Pippa Black
 

Pippa Black (born October 16, 1982 in Ferntree Gully, Melbourne) is an Australian actress.

Career
Black made small appearances in Australian television shows, student films and children's theatre before playing a four-year stint as Elle Robinson in the iconic Network Ten soap opera Neighbours. Black has not ruled out a return to Neighbours in the future.

Recent projects include Gemma Lee's short film The Wake, which premiered in June at the Palm Springs International ShortFest, and independent film Emergence, written and directed by, and starring Anthony Furlong. She is set to appear alongside Eloise Mignon (Neighbours' Bridget Parker) in City Homicide, an Australian television drama, as new mother Emily Rigby.

She and Sweeney Young, also of Neighbours fame, portray a young couple in The Jacob Butler Project's music video, "Coma".

Black can be seen in an eye makeup advertisement for Australis Cosmetics. In it, she poses as a nurse who is so taken by one patient's eyeshadow that she applies it to her own eyes using her finger.

Personal life
Black completed high school at Beaconhills College as Vice Captain.She began studies in Animal Technology and landed a job as a vet nurse, but later deferred them to pursue acting.

In a 2006 TV WEEK article Black admitted to being extremely shy as a young adult. Initially, she took up acting classes as an attempt to build confidence.

Black is best friends with former Neighbours castmate Natalie Blair. Other friends from the soap include Stephanie McIntosh (Black even appeared in one episode of The Steph Show), Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Scott Major. She previously dated actor Fletcher Humphrys, whom she met when they both appeared in an episode of Last Man Standing in 2005.

Black has two brothers, and owns a retired white horse, Easy, and a dog, Tank. Her favourite food is Mexican. She is left-handed.
