Bijou Phillips
Bijou Phillips (* 1. April 1980 in Greenwich, Connecticut) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin, Sängerin und Fotomodel. Bijou Phillips ist die Tochter von John Phillips.
Bijou Phillips begann bereits in jungen Jahren als Model zu arbeiten. Mit 13 Jahren war sie auf dem Cover der Interview, mit Fünfzehn war sie auf dem Titelbild der italienischen Vogue zu sehen. Im Alter von 17 Jahren unterschrieb Bijou Phillips einen Plattenvertrag bei Almos Records und beendete ihre Modelkarriere. 1999 veröffentlichte sie ihr Debütalbum I'd Rather Eat Glass, welches von Talking Heads-Frontmann Jerry Harrison produziert wurde. Ein Jahr später ließ sie sich für den Playboy ablichten. Im Jahr 1999 machte Bijou Phillips erste Erfahrungen mit der Schauspielerei. 2000 hatte sie eine größere Rolle in Almost Famous – Fast berühmt. 2001 wirkte sie im Film Tart – Jet Set Kids mit. Nach ihren Hauptrollen in Bully (2001) und Octane – Grausamer Verdacht (2003) spielte Bijou neben Jeff Bridges und Kim Basinger in der Adaption von John Irvings Roman The Door in the Floor – Die Tür der Versuchung von 2005. 2005 agierte sie zusammen mit Anne Hathaway und Michael Biehn im Spielfilmdebüt der Oscarprämierten Dokumentarfilmerin Barbara Kopple namens Havoc. 2006/2007 stand sie für David Finchers Film Zodiac – Die Spur des Killers mit Robert Downey Jr., Jake Gyllenhaal und Gary Oldman vor der Kamera. Außerdem ist sie mit der Produktion ihres zweiten Albums beschäftigt. Im Jahre 2007 erschien Eli Roth's Film Hostelart II, in dem sie mit u.a. Heather Matarazzo und Lauren German, eine der Hauptrollen spielt. |
