Parker Christian Posey (* 8. November 1968 in Baltimore, Maryland) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Leben und Leistungen [Bearbeiten]

Posey studierte an der State University of New York. Sie debütierte als Schauspielerin im Jahr 1991 in der Fernsehserie As the World Turns, ihre erste Hauptrolle spielte sie im Film Crazy Party Girl aus dem Jahr 1995. Im Film E-Mail für Dich (1998) spielte sie neben Tom Hanks, im Film Scream 3 (2000) neben David Arquette und Courteney Cox, im Film Super süß und super sexy (2002) neben Cameron Diaz und Christina Applegate. Für ihre Rolle im Film A Mighty Wind (2003) gewann sie den Florida Film Critics Circle Award.

Posey spielte in ca. 30 Independentfilmen, weswegen sie von der Zeitschrift TIME als Königin der Independentfilme (Queen of the Indies) bezeichnet wurde. Sie selber veröffentlicht manchmal Beiträge in der literarischen Zeitschrift Open City.

Ihren Vornamen erhielt Posey nach dem Fotomodell und der Schauspielerin Suzy Parker († 2003). Sie lebt in New York City.
