Barbara Carrera
 

*31. Dezember 1951 in Managua, Nicaragua) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.


Barbara Carrera ist die Tochter einer Nicaraguanerin und eines in Nicaragua tätigen US-Diplomaten. Im Alter von 17 Jahren wurde sie Fotomodell und war damit sehr erfolgreich. In Puzzle of a Downfall Child hatte sie 1970 ihr Filmdebüt. 1976 wurde sie für ihre Rolle in dem von Tom Laughlin inszenierten Film Der Rächer von Kalifornien für einen Golden Globe Award als bestes Nachwuchstalent nominiert. Bekannt wurde sie vor allem durch ihre Rollen als mörderische Femme fatale in der Mickey Spillane-Verfilmung Ich, der Richter (1982) und ein Jahr später in dem James-Bond-Film Sag niemals nie, für den sie ebenfalls eine Golden Globe-Nominierung erntete. 1985/86 spielte sie als Angelica Nero für eine Serienstaffel in Dallas mit. Im Jahr 1989 trat sie in der Komödie Loverboy – Liebe auf Bestellung auf, im Jahr 1996 spielte sie in der Komödie Liebe und andere ....

Sie widmet sich ferner auch der Malerei, die zu ihrem größten Hobby geworden ist.

Barbara Carrera war verheiratet mit ihrem Fotomodell-Kollegen Uva Barden, mit Baron Otto von Hoffman und dem griechischen Reeder Nicholas Mavroleon. Alle Ehen wurden geschieden.
