Kathleen Erin Walsh (* 13. Oktober 1967 in San José, Kalifornien, USA) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Biografie

Kate Walsh ist in San José und Tucson, Arizona aufgewachsen. Später besuchte sie die University of Arizona, wo sie zum ersten Mal auf der Bühne stand. Danach zog sie nach Chicago, wo sie weiter als Theaterschauspielerin wirkte. Sie war auch beim National Public Radio beschäftigt.

Sie zog später nach New York City, trat einer Comedy-Gruppe bei und wirkte bei einigen Off-Broadway-Stücken mit.

Ihr erster wichtiger Fernsehauftritt war eine Nebenrolle bei der Drew Carey Show. Weitere Gastrollen wie in den Fernsehserien The Mind of the Married Man, The Norm Show und CSI – Den Tätern auf der Spur folgten. Einem größeren Publikum bekannt wurde sie durch die Rolle der Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery(-Shepherd) in der Erfolgsserie Grey’s Anatomy. Ab 2007 wird ihre eigene Serie produziert. Private Practice ist ein Spin-Off von Grey's Anatomy, sodass sie erneut Dr. Forbes Montgomery spielen wird.

Ihr Kinodebüt hatte sie 1996 in einer Nebenrolle bei Normal Life – Tödliche Illusion. Weitere Kinorollen spielte sie in Filmen wie Die Pfeffermühlen (1997), "Unter der Sonne der Toskana" (2004) an der Seite von Diane Lane (in dem sie die lesbische Freundin ihrer späteren Kollegin Sandra Oh spielte) und ihre erste Filmhauptrolle bekam sie in Kicking & Screaming (2005).

Am 01. September 2007 heiratete sie den Fox Co-Präsidenten Alex Young in der Ojai Presbyterian Church in Ojai.
