Mariska Hargitay
 

Mariska Magdolina Hargitay (* 23. Januar 1964 in Los Angeles) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Leben

Mariska Hargitay kam 1964 als Tochter der Schauspieler Mickey Hargitay und Jayne Mansfield in Los Angeles zur Welt. Im Alter von drei Jahren erlebte sie den Autounfall mit, bei dem ihre Mutter starb. Mariska und ihre Brüder Zoltan und Mickey jr. saßen auf der Rückbank und kamen mit leichten Verletzungen davon.

Sie besuchte die Universität von Kalifornien in Los Angeles (UCLA) und belegte nach dem Bachelor weitere Kurse in Theaterwissenschaften, verließ die Universität jedoch ohne Abschluss eines höheren Titels. Später wurde sie Schauspielerin. Ihre erste Rolle war im Kultfilm Ghoulies (1985). Sie trat vor allem in US-amerikanischen Fernsehserien auf wie Falcon Crest, Emergency Room oder Seinfeld und bekam auch Nebenrollen in Hollywood-Filmen wie Leaving Las Vegas (1995). Im Filmdrama Mord im Schilf (2004) spielte sie die Hauptrolle.

Mit ihrem Mann, dem Schauspieler Peter Hermann, hat sie einen Sohn namens August Miklos Friedrich Hermann (* 28. Juni 2006 ).

Auszeichnungen

Für ihre Rolle der Detective Olivia Benson in der amerikanischen Fernsehserie Law & Order: New York erhielt sie 2005 den Golden Globe Award als Beste Hauptdarstellerin in einer Drama-Serie und 2006 einen Primetime Emmy, nachdem sie zuvor zweimal hintereinander für diesen Preis nominiert worden war.
