Shannyn Sossamon (* 3. Oktober 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii; eigentlich Shannon Marie Kahoolani Sossamon) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Sossamon wuchs in Reno, Nevada und Los Angeles auf. In ihrer Zeit auf der High School tanzte sie oft und wollte lange Zeit ihr Hobby zum Beruf machen. Es kam anders, als sie auf einer Party bei Gwyneth Paltrow, auf der sie Musik machte, von Francine Maisler entdeckt wurde.

Rund ein halbes Jahr später wurde ihr eine Rolle in dem Kinofilm Ritter aus Leidenschaft angeboten. Diesem Film folgten 40 Tage und 40 Nächte sowie, Die Regeln des Spiels, Wholey Moses, Sin Eater – Die Seele des Bösen, Devour, Chasing Ghosts, Undiscovered, Catacombs und The Holiday, sowie einige Werbeauftritte (z. B.: GAP).

Shannyn Sossamon hat drei Tattoos, unter anderem ein "S" mit einer Blume auf dem Schulterblatt.

Sie ist mit dem Kickboxtrainer Dallas Clayton liiert. 2003 wurde ihr Sohn Audio Science Clayton geboren.
