Sara Gilbert
Sara Gilbert (* als Sara Rebecca Abeles am 29. Januar 1975 in Santa Monica, Kalifornien) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.
Die ältere Schwester von Sara, Melissa Gilbert, ist ebenfalls Schauspielerin. Melissas Rolle in der Fernsehserie Unsere kleine Farm beeinflusste Saras Berufswahl. Mit dreizehn Jahren erhielt sie die Rolle der Darlene Conner in der Fernsehserie Roseanne, die sie bis zum Jahr 1997 spielte. Für diese Rolle wurde sie in den Jahren 1993 und 1994 für den Emmy Award nominiert. Im Jahr 1990 wurde sie für den Young Artist Award nominiert, in den Jahren 1991, 1992 und 1993 gewann sie diesen Preis. Im Jahr 1997 schloss sie ein Studium der künstlerischen Fotografie an der Yale University mit Auszeichnung ab. Gilbert spielte im Thriller Poison Ivy – Die tödliche Umarmung (1992) neben Drew Barrymore eine der Hauptrollen, für die sie für den Independent Spirit Award nominiert wurde. In der Komödie Desert Blue (1998) spielte sie neben Kate Hudson und Christina Ricci, im Film Unterwegs mit Jungs (2001) erneut neben Drew Barrymore. Seit dem Jahr 2005 tritt sie neben Melanie Griffith in einer Hauptrolle in der Fernsehserie Twins auf. Sara Gilbert hat zwei Kinder zusammen mit ihrer Lebensgefährtin, der Produzentin und Autorin Allison Adler. Allison Adler hat den Sohn per Samenspende empfangen. Sara Gilbert gebar im August 2007 während der Dreharbeiten zu Private Practice eine Tochter. |
