Die Tochter griechischer Eltern, die Anfang der 60er Jahre nach Deutschland kamen, wuchs in Schleswig-Holstein auf. Zum Film kam sie durch einen Zufall, als sie sich als 15-jährige nach einem Aufruf im Radio ohne jede Vorkenntnisse auf eine Rolle bewarb. Prompt bekam sie die weibliche Hauptrolle der Rocksängerin Lisa in dem Ruhrgebietsfilm über jugendliche Beat-Bands der 1960er Jahre Die Heartbreakers (1982) von Peter F. Bringmann. Der Film erhielt den Bayerischer Filmpreis in der Kategorie Bester Nachwuchsfilm und den Deutschen Filmpreis in Silber. Danach folgten Hauptrollen in TV-Movies wie "Alles Paletti" (1985), "Das Traumauto" (1987) und "Auf's Ganze" (1988), sowie Gastrollen in Fernsehserien wie "Adelheid und ihre Mörder" oder "Peter Strohm". Auch in einem Kurzfilm von Sönke Wortmann "Nachtfahrer" (1985) spielte sie mit. Bekannt wurde sie vor allem durch ihre Mitwirkung in den Fernsehserien Sterne des Südens und Großstadtrevier.
