Kate Bosworth
 

Catherine „Kate“ Anne Bosworth (* 2. Januar 1983 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin. Sie wuchs in San Francisco, Kalifornien, Connecticut und in Massachusetts auf. Ein besonderes Merkmal sind ihre verschiedenfarbigen Augen, von denen das eine braun und das andere blau ist (Iris-Heterochromie).

Karriere

Anfangs auf die Warteliste gestellt, machte Bosworth ihren Abschluss an der Princeton University in New Jersey. Ihr Durchbruch folgte 2002 in dem Film Blue Crush, in dem sie eine Surferin spielt, die sich zwischen der Liebe, Freunden und einem Wettkampf entscheiden muss. Der Film besticht durch seine außergewöhnlichen Landschaftsaufnahmen.

Bosworths größte Filmrolle, die sie allgemein bekannt machte, war die der Lois Lane im Bryan-Singer-Film Superman Returns, einer Fortsetzung der Superman-Filme mit Christopher Reeve aus den 1970er und -80er Jahren. Ihre Rolle hat hier gemeinsam mit Superman (dargestellt von Brandon Routh) einen Sohn.

Privates

Seit Superman Returns hat Bosworth radikal abgenommen und entspricht damit in Augen vieler Journalisten dem fragwürdigen Magertrend des jungen Hollywoods.[1][2]
