Mathilda May
 

Mathilda May (* 8. Februar 1965 in Paris; eigentlich Karima Mathilda Haim) ist eine französische Schauspielerin.
Sie wurde als Tochter einer skandinavischen Primaballerina geboren; ihr Vater ist ein Bühnenautor griechisch-türkischer Herkunft. Mathilda May studierte 10 Jahre Ballett und wandte sich mit 18 der Schauspielerei zu. Für ihre erste Filmrolle in Nemo erhielt sie den Romy-Schneider-Preis als beste Nachwuchsdarstellerin. Mathilda May zählt zu den großen Entdeckungen des französischen Films in den 80er Jahren; sie spielte in Filmen namhafter Regisseure mit, z.B. Claude Chabrol, Werner Herzog.
Sie versuchte sich auch kurzzeitig als Sängerin von Jazz Stücken.
