Danneel Harris
 

Biography

Harris was born Elta Danneel Graul in Lafayette, LA and was raised in the small town of Eunice. She moved to Los Angeles and continued her acting training with John Homa, Calmeson and Calmeson, and Craig Wargo.

Before she landed her first acting role, Harris worked as a model with such companies as Big Sexy Hair and Juicy Jeans. She first appeared in a television commercial. The independent film The Plight of Clownana marks her first major acting role. Her other credits include the WB's What I Like About You, guest appearance on Mad TV and a supporting role in the yet-to-be released indie Rule Number One starring Ed Harris.

Harris is skilled in gymnastics and her musical talents include playing the piano and singing. She relocated to New York in 2004 for her role on One Life To Live.

In 2005, Harris scored a recurring role on the hit TV show One Tree Hill, playing the fiery redhead Rachel Gatina, a thorn in many of the character's sides. She went on to become an integral part of the show, featuring in the main credits of the fourth season.

As of 2007, Harris lives in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Danneel Ackles (* 18. März 1979 in Lafayette, Louisiana; als Elta Danneel Graul, ehemals Danneel Harris) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.


Karriere

Ackles wurde 2005 durch ihre Nebenrolle Rachel Gatina in der Serie One Tree Hill bekannt, nachdem sie im Jahr zuvor im Kurzfilm The Plight of Clownana ihre erste Rolle hatte. In 68 Episoden der seit 1968 laufenden Serie Liebe, Lüge, Leidenschaft spielte sie die Figur Shannon McBain. Sie hatte unter anderem Gastauftritte in den Serien Hallo Holly, Joey, JAG – Im Auftrag der Ehre und CSI: Den Tätern auf der Spur. 2008 spielte sie in der Filmkomödie Harold & Kumar 2 – Flucht aus Guantanamo mit.

Seit 2006 ist sie mit dem Schauspieler Jensen Ackles zusammen. Am 15. Mai 2010 heirateten die beiden in seiner Heimatstadt Dallas im US-Bundesstaat Texas.
