Nicole Elikolani Prescovia Scherzinger (* 29. Juni 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii) ist eine US-amerikanische Tänzerin, Sängerin und Schauspielerin russischer, hawaiischer und philippinischer Herkunft. Sie ist Mitglied der Tanz- und Musikgruppe The Pussycat Dolls.

Neben der Musik betätigt sich Scherzinger auch als Schauspielerin; so war sie bislang in den Filmen Chasing Papi und Love Don't Cost a Thing zu sehen.

Nicole Scherzinger wurde als Kind hawaiisch-russisch-philippinischer Eltern in Honolulu geboren. Mit dem Beginn ihrer Schulzeit zog Scherzingers Familie nach Louisville (Kentucky), da ihr Vater, der Soldat war, dorthin versetzt wurde. Scherzinger bezeichnet diese Zeit als sehr schwierig, war sich aber schon damals sicher, Sängerin zu werden. Gleichzeitig nahm sie während der Schulzeit Schauspielunterricht. Für ihr erstes großes Stück stand sie im bekannten Louisville Actors Theater auf der Bühne.

Während der drei Jahre, in denen sie nach der Schule Schauspielerei und Tanz studierte, verdiente sie ihr Geld mit kleineren Jobs als Model. Als Travis Meek von der Rockband Days of the New eine Sängerin suchte, nahm Scherzinger mit ihm ein paar Demo-Tracks auf, ging dann aber vorerst wieder zur Uni zurück.

Schließlich hörte der Produzent Scott Litt ihre Demobänder und lud sie nach Los Angeles ein, um mit der Band deren zweites Album aufzunehmen. Nach der anschließenden Tour arbeitete Scherzinger an ihrer eigenen Musik.
