Shiri Appleby
 

Shiri Freda Appleby (* 7. Dezember 1978 in Los Angeles) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin. Sie stand schon mit 4 Jahren für ihre ersten Werbespots vor der Kamera, unter anderem für M&Ms und Taco Bell.

Ihre erste richtige Rolle war 1984 ein Auftritt in der amerikanischen Seifenoper Santa Barbara, ihr Filmdebut gab sie 1988 in dem Low-Budget Streifen Curse II – The Bite.

Bekannt wurde sie durch die Hauptrolle der Fernsehserie Roswell, in der sie die Rolle der Liz Parker verkörperte. Weitere Darsteller der Serie, die trotz großer Fangemeinde und Achtungserfolg nach der 3. Staffel beendet wurde, waren Jason Behr, Colin Hanks, Brendan Fehr, Katherine Heigl (bekannt aus Grey's Anatomy), Nick Wechsler und Emilie DeRavin (bekannt aus Lost).

Nachdem die Serie abgesetzt wurde, spielte Shiri Appleby in verschiedenen Kinofilmen mit! Sie spielte neben Jesse Bradford und Erika Christensen die Hauptrolle in dem Teenie-Thriller Swimfan, sowie in den Filmem Havoc (mit Michael Biehn, Bijou Phillips und Anne Hathaway), Undertow (mit Kristen Stewart und Jamie Bell ) und When Do We Eat?.Im Feburar wird sie neben Tom Hanks,Julia Roberts und Philip Seymour Hoffman in dem Film ,,Der Krieg des Charlie Wilson" zu sehen sein. Außerdem wird Shiri Appleby 2008 in der Serie ,,To Love and Die" zu sehen sein. Sie spielt dort die Hauptrolle.
