Mischa Anne Marsden Barton (* 24. Januar 1986 in London, England) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin britisch-irischer Herkunft.

Sie hat zwei Schwestern, Hania (* 1988) und Zoe (* 1978). Ihre Eltern sind die irischstämmige Fotografin Nuala Quinn und der Börsenmakler Paul Marsden Barton. Im Jahr 2005 zog sie mit ihrer Familie nach Beverly Hills, Kalifornien.

Mischa Barton war bis Herbst 2006 mit dem Whitestarr-Sänger Cisco Adler liiert. Vorher war sie mit Brandon Davis zusammen, dem Enkel des Ölmillionärs Marvin Davis.

1991 zog die Familie nach New York City. Im Alter von neun Jahren begann sie ihre Schauspielkarriere an diversen Theatern in New York, wo sie die Hauptrolle in Tony Kushners Slave erhielt. Es folgten weitere Stücke wie Where the Truth Lies, Twelve Dreams und One Flea Spare. Außerdem nahm sie am Shakespeare Festival in New York City teil. Ihr Fernsehdebüt gab sie 1996 in der Serie All my Children.

Mischa Barton arbeitet neben der Schauspielerei als Model für Kosmetik- und Bekleidungshersteller. Bis 2006 spielte sie in der US-amerikanischen Fernsehserie O.C., California die Rolle der Marissa Cooper. Nach Streitereien mit den Produzenten wurde sie für das Ende der dritten Staffel aus der Serie rausgeschrieben. Für diese Rolle gewann sie im Jahr 2004 den Teen Choice Award und wurde in einer weiteren Kategorie für den gleichen Preis nominiert. Im Jahr 2005 wurde sie für den Teen Choice Award nominiert, den sie 2006 erneut gewann.
