Christina Maria Aguilera [kɹɪsˈtiːnə əgɪˈlæɹə] (* 18. Dezember 1980 in Staten Island, New York) ist eine US-amerikanische Popsängerin. Bekannt wurde sie als Moderatorin des Mickey Mouse Club. Sie ist seit dem 19. November 2005 mit Jordan Bratman verheiratet.

Christina Aguilera wuchs in Wexford, Pennsylvania auf. Ihr Vater, Fausto Aguilera, ist Unteroffizier in der U.S. Army und stammt aus Ecuador, ihre Mutter Shelly Loraine Fidler ist Spanisch-Übersetzerin und Violinistin aus Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Die Eltern ließen sich scheiden, als Christina sechs oder sieben Jahre alt war. Nach der Scheidung der Eltern lebte sie mit ihrer jüngeren Schwester Rachel und ihrer Mutter im Haushalt der Großmutter in Pittsburgh. Diese Großmutter war die erste Person, die Aguileras stimmliche Fähigkeiten bemerkte. Aguilera wollte von Kindesbeinen an professionelle Sängerin werden und bewunderte Sängerinnen wie Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Judy Garland, Madonna und Whitney Houston. Sie nahm schon als Kind an Talentwettbewerben teil und war in der Nachbarschaft als das „kleine Mädchen mit der großen Stimme“ bekannt.

Während ihrer Zeit in Pittsburgh sang sie die amerikanische Nationalhymne vor Spielen der Pittsburgh Steelers und Pittsburgh Pirates. Ihre erste größere Rolle in der Unterhaltungsindustrie übernahm sie 1993, als sie im Disney Channel den Mickey-Maus-Club moderierte. Dort arbeitete sie unter anderen mit Britney Spears und Justin Timberlake. 1994 wurde die Mickey-Maus-Show eingestellt und Aguilera begann Demos aufzunehmen, um einen Schallplattenvertrag zu erhalten. Einige dieser Demos wurden im Zuge ihres späteren Erfolgs unter dem Titel „Just Be Free“ gegen ihren Willen veröffentlicht.

In den späten 1990er Jahren war Aguilera bekannt dafür, regelmäßig neue Piercings in den Medien zu verkünden. Von diesen ist allerdings mittlerweile nur noch ein Brustwarzenpiercing übrig.

Laut US- Magazin Forbes ist Aguilera die 19. reichste Frau im Showgeschäft weltweit.
