Elizabeth Mitchell
Elizabeth Mitchell (* 27. März 1970 in Los Angeles) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.
Biografie Als sie ein Jahr alt war, zogen ihre Eltern von Los Angeles nach Dallas, Texas. Dort kamen auch ihre beiden Schwestern zur Welt, Kristie ist 8 Jahre jünger, Katie ist 12 Jahre jünger. Die Eltern waren Steueranwälte mit eigener Firma. In Dallas besuchte sie die Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts. Auf dem Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, und auf der British American Drama Academy in London studierte sie Schauspiel. Ihr Studium schloss Elizabeth Mitchell mit dem akademischen Titel des Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) ab. Ihre ersten Berufsjahre waren hauptsächlich von Bühnenauftritten in Großbritannien und Amerika geprägt. Sie war sechs Jahre lang Mitglied des Dallas Theatre Centre und ein weiteres Jahr bei der Theatergruppe Encore Company. Sie trat hier beispielsweise in Stücken wie Baby und Chicago auf. Ihren filmischen Durchbruch erfuhr sie an der Seite von Angelina Jolie in dem Film Gia (1997). In diesem biographischen Film über das Leben des bisexuellen Topmodels Gia Carangi verkörpert Elizabeth Mitchell deren Geliebte Linda. Neben dem amerikanischen Komiker Tim Allen spielt sie Carol Newman in Santa Clause 2. Während der Dreharbeiten zu dem Fantasy-Thriller Frequency mit Dennis Quaid erlitt sie einen Unfall und brach sich die Nase. Auch in amerikanischen Serienerfolgen wie Emergency Room und Lost war sie bereits zu sehen. Seit 2004 ist Elizabeth Mitchell mit dem Schauspieler Chris Soldevilla verheiratet. Seit 2005 haben sie einen Sohn, Christopher Jr. Falls sie jemand kennt, dann wohl aus LOST, in der sie die Dr. Juliet Burke spielt. |
