Emily Irene VanCamp (* 12. Mai 1986 in Port Perry, Ontario) ist eine kanadische Schauspielerin. Größere Bekanntheit erlangte sie durch ihre Hauptrolle in der US-amerikanischen Fernsehserie Everwood (2002–2006). Seit 2006 spielt sie zudem eine Hauptrolle in der Fernsehserie Brothers & Sisters.

Emilys Traum war es immer Tänzerin zu werden. Mit 12 Jahren besuchte sie die renommierte Tanzschule L'Ecole Superieure de Danse de Quebec in Montréal, um später leichter in die Ballettkompanie Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal aufgenommen zu werden. Ihr Berufswunsch änderte sich aber, als sie ihre ältere Schwester Katie bei den Dreharbeiten zum Film Ladies Room (Ladies Room, 1999) sah.

Sie wirkte anfangs in eher kleineren Rollen in diversen Fernsehserien mit, aber auch schon in Filmen wie beispielsweise „The House on Turk Street“ mit Samuel L. Jackson und Milla Jovovich. 2002 erhielt sie eine Nebenrolle in der Mystery-Serie Glory Days, die aber nach nur einer Staffel abgesetzt wurde. Noch im selben Jahr wurde sie von Greg Berlanti (Exectutive Producer und Autor, u. a. Dawson’s Creek, Everwood und Brothers & Sisters) entdeckt und bekam die Hauptrolle der Amy Abott, eine junge High-School-Schülerin, in der US-amerikanischen Fernsehserie Everwood. Die Rolle verhalf ihr zu einer größeren Bekanntheit und brachte ihr drei Teen-Choice-Award-Nominierungen und eine Young-Artist-Award-Nominierung ein. 2006 wurde Everwood nach vier Jahren abgesetzt.

Danach wirkte VanCamp in den Filmen „Carriers“ und „Black Irish“ mit und hatte einen Kurzauftritt in The Ring 2. Im Herbst 2006 bekam sie eine neue Serienrolle in der Dramaserie Brothers & Sisters, zu der sie gegen Ende von Staffel 1 dazustieß. Hier arbeitet sie erneut mit Produzent Greg Berlanti zusammen, der schon in Everwood diese Funktion ausführte.

VanCamp hat drei Geschwister, spricht fließend Englisch, Französisch (ihre Muttersprachen) und Spanisch, trägt Kontaktlinsen und ist 1,72m groß. Zurzeit wohnt sie in Los Angeles.
