Leben

Nandini Mitra ist die Tochter eines indischen Kaufmanns und einer deutschen Oberstudienrätin. Sie wuchs in Hamburg auf. Als Kind sang sie im Kinderchor von Rolf Zuckowski, tanzte Ballett und nahm an Tanzturnieren teil. 1995 schloss Mitra bei Jil Sander ihre Ausbildung zur Damenschneiderin ab. 1996 legte sie ihr Fachabitur ab und absolvierte parallel von 1995 bis 1997 eine Ausbildung an der Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama Hamburg.

2005 begann Nandini Mitra ein Fernstudium für Journalismus, das sie 2007 abschloss.

Karriere

Ihre Fernsehkarriere begann Nandini Mitra 1997 beim Musiksender MTV, wo sie die Formate „Select MTV”, „Beach House“, „50 : 1“, „In Touch“ und die Live-Show „Fashion Zone“ moderierte.

Im Jahre 2001 wechselte die Moderatorin zum Sender VOX, wo sie das Format „Fit For Fun TV“ moderierte. Im Juli 2002 kam Nandini Mitra auf das Cover des Playboy Deutschland.

Für die Olympia-Bewerbung Hamburg „Feuer und Flamme“ 2012 stand Nandini Mitra mit Wladimir und Vitali Klitschko, Uwe Seeler sowie Johannes B. Kerner als Werbeträgerin zur Verfügung.

Nandini Mitra übernahm eine Gastrolle in der deutschen RTL Serie „Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten“ und war dort drei Monate lang als Krankenschwester Lena zu sehen. Darüber hinaus moderiert sie regelmäßig Galas und andere Veranstaltungen außerhalb des Fernsehens.

Nandini Mitra engagiert sich für karitative Einrichtungen wie das Kinderkrankenhaus in Altona und die Harburger Suppenküche „Löwenhaus“.

Im Herbst 2008 steht Nandini Mitra zusammen mit TV Koch Alexander Herrmann als Pilates Expertin für "Der Gesunde Tag" der Allianz Privaten Krankenversicherung zur Verfügung.
