Angelina Jolie
 

Angelina Jolie (* 4. Juni 1975 in Los Angeles, Kalifornien als Angelina Jolie Voight) ist eine Schauspielerin, ein ehemaliges Fotomodel und Sonderbotschafterin für das UNO-Hochkommissariat für Flüchtlinge (UNHCR). In den Boulevardmedien wird sie häufig als eine der schönsten Frauen der Welt beschrieben.[1] Als Schauspielerin gewann sie drei Golden Globes, zwei Screen Actors Guild Awards und einen Oscar.

Nachdem Jolie mit sieben Jahren neben ihrem Vater Jon Voight in „Zwei in der Tinte“ (1982) einen Kurzauftritt hatte, begann ihre Schauspielkarriere ein Jahrzehnt später mit dem Low-Budget-Film „Cyborg 2“ (1993) und sie erschien in ihrer ersten Hollywoodhauptrolle in „Hackers – Im Netz des FBI“ (1995). Danach trat sie in den biographischen Filmen „Wallace“ (1997) und „Gia – Preis der Schönheit“ ( 1998 ) auf und gewann einen Oscar als Beste Nebendarstellerin für „Durchgeknallt“ (1999). Internationale Berühmtheit erlangte sie mit ihrer Darstellung der Videospielheldin Lara Croft in „Lara Croft: Tomb Raider“ (2001) und seither etablierte sie sich als eine der bekanntesten und höchstbezahltesten Schauspielerinnen in Hollywood. Ihren größten kommerziellen Erfolg feierte sie mit der Actionkomödie „Mr. & Mrs. Smith“ (2005).

Jolie ist von den Schauspielern Jonny Lee Miller und Billy Bob Thornton geschieden und lebt gegenwärtig mit dem amerikanischen Schauspieler Brad Pitt zusammen; eine Beziehung, die enormes internationales Medieninteresse auf sich gezogen hat.[2] Jolie und Pitt haben drei adoptierte Kinder, Maddox, Pax und Zahara, und ein leibliches Kind Shiloh. Daneben unterstützt Jolie humanitäre Projekte weltweit und ist im Besonderen für ihre Arbeit mit Flüchtlingen für UNHCR bekannt.
