Standard Ivy Levan

Ivy Levan (born 20 January 1987 in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is an American pop recording artist, model and actress from Bentonville, Arkansas. Ivy is currently signed to Cherrytree Records, part of Interscope Records. Ivy starred and made her first acting debut in the 2010 film Drop Dead Gorgeous. Ivy moved to Los Angeles at age 16 to pursue a music career.

Ivy has released an EP album in 2013 under Interscope Records titled "Introducing The Dame". The EP features the single 'Hot Damn', which has garnished over 700K views on YouTube.


Early Life

Ivy was born in Arkansas and moved to Los Angeles when she was 16 years old to pursue a music career. Ivy says “I just knew I needed to get out of there as fast as I could, so two weeks before I was supposed to graduate high school, I took off for L.A. with my mama.” After multiple musical styles, Ivy returned to her Southern heritage. Levan has worked with Benjamin Weinman of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Diplo & Tomo Miličević.

Levan labels her sound as 'punk/rock' and 'swamp/hop'.

Ivy Levan has been featured in several publications in print and online. In June of 2013, Ivy was interviewed for Glamour Magazine and featured on CBS News' "The Feed." On July 20, 2013, Ivy was listed as number 1 on Billboard's "Next Big Sound," a measure of the fastest accelerating artists across social media. Levan was featured on MTVu's Freshman segment, securing the winning spot twice. Once for her video 'Hot Damn' in August of 2013 and again for her video 'Hang Forever' in February of 2014. MTV featured Ivy Levan as MTV Buzzworthy's Obsession. On November 1, 2013, Yahoo! Music called Ivy "The New It-Girl." On April 30th, 2014, Ivy Levan was labeled as an 'Artist To Watch' by Fox Weekly.

Television

In December of 2013, Ivy Levan was featured in a television commercial for the Beats By Dre Color Solo Headphones alongside Chris Cole[disambiguation needed], Jasmine Villegas, August Alsina, Nipsey Hussle, Nyjah Huston, Serena Williams and Alex Midler. Levan made her television performance debut February 2, 2014 on the Late Show with David Letterman in which she performed Drive My Car with Sting and Mike Einziger on day two of the Late Show's Beatles Tribute Week.

In June of 2013, Ivy Levan supported Fitz & The Tantrums touring mostly the Mid-West and North-Eastern United States as well as Texas. During this tour, she also performed at clubs in support of the LGBT community. In October 2013, she supported Emeli Sandè.On April 17, 2014, Ivy performed with Lisa Fischer for the 25th Anniversary of the Rainforest Fund Benefit Concert.
