Anna McGahan (born on 2 May 1988) is an Australian television and film actress, who has mainly appeared in Australian television programs and short films. She is best known for playing the role of Nellie Cameron in the Australian television series, Underbelly: Razor in 2011.

She is also a playwright.

Career

McGahan has mainly appeared in short films and televisions series. Her most noble appearance to date is starring as Nellie Cameron in the hit Australian TV series Underbelly: Razor, in which she plays a 16-year-old 1920s prostitute from a wealthy background who influenced some of the era's most powerful men.

McGahan is currently[when?] focusing on a play she has written and produced called He's Seeing Other People Now which she began writing as a student at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Personal life

McGahan grew up in Coorparoo, Queensland and studied Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) at QUT, graduating in 2010. She has recently[when?] relocated to Sydney.

McGahan is a skilled dancer (ballet, contemporary), Taekwondo competitor, photographer and playwright.

McGahan has said playing a notorious prostitute Nellie Cameron, does have its downsides. Many of her scenes in Underbelly: Razor are either semi or fully nude, meaning imagery and videos are viral online. She has spoken about feeling uncomfortable from the attention received and was even less impressed to discover footage was available to watch any time of day or night on replays on Nine Network's website. In fact, the actress was so shy about baring all, journalists were banned from talking to her about the nudity during any interviews.
