Jade Williams
Jade Williams (born in Broxbourne, 1988) is a British solo pop singer who performs under the stage name Sunday Girl. The name originates from when she was younger and used to work in a pet shop every Sunday; where over time she became known as Sunday Girl. Williams is signed to the record labels Geffen and Polydor
Career As a child, Williams was always shy when it came to performing in front of other people, which lead to her mother taking her to seeing a hypnotist to overcome the fear. During her teenage years, Williams was employed at a local pet shop where she worked every Sunday. Having not revealed her name to the other members of staff, Williams became known as Sunday Girl, which would later become her music alias. Debut album Sunday Girl released her debut single "Four Floors" through Polydor Records in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2010. The single was released as part of a four-piece EP, which featured a remix of the song by Diplo, who produced the original song. A music video directed by Elisha Smith-Leverock was also released to accompany the release of the single. On 15 July, Sunday Girl released her second single, "Self Control", a cover of the Laura Branigan song. A music video, again directed by Smith-Leverock was released to accompany the single release. During August, Sunday Girl also posted a series of video on Youtube of her performing covers of other singles, including MGMT's "Time to Pretend" and Ke$ha's "Tik Tok". During October 2010, Sunday Girl toured alongside BRIT Award-winning singer Ellie Goulding as part of her Lights Tour. A third single, "Stop Hey" is due for release during January 2011, which will precede the release of the debut album; which was created alongside producers Diplo and Jim Elliot.
