Filmstar Rebekah Kennedy

While Rebekah is new to the screen, she is not new to acting!

Rebekah Kennedy was born in Arlington, Texas in 1984 and at the age of 4 was ready to take the stage! When Rebekah did not make the cheer-leading squad at age 12, her mother finally took her interest in acting seriously, and Rebekah began taking acting classes. Soon after, Rebekah started to audition and quickly landed a part in the musical, "The Music Man." She then had roles in "The Wizard of Oz," and "My Fair Lady." When she was 15, she landed a role in her first straight play, "Halloween Screams," where Rebekah portrayed a 12-year-old girl named Cassie who heard voices. She received some great reviews for the role and had then decided that acting would be her career.

While Rebekah was gaining stage experience, she continued to take dance classes three times a week at a local dance studio. There she studied Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. Rebekah also began taking voice lessons privately while she studied Musical Theatre at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas.

As a junior in High School, Rebekah auditioned and was accepted into Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a Dance major. (Also known as the Arts Magnet in Dallas) There she continued to polish her dance skills as well as continuing to take acting classes. Rebekah began to perform professionally at the age of 17 when she joined the Children's Ensemble of the National Tour of "Capser: The Musical" starring Tony Award Winner Chita Rivera.

At 18, Rebekah flew off to Florida to major in Musical Theatre at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL! While in college, she portrayed roles such as Anybodys in "West Side Story," Jennie Mae Layman in "The Diviners," Nursie in "Camino Real," Ralph in "Kiss me Kate," and the Little Boy in "Me and My Girl." Rebekah worked very hard for four years and studied, acting, dancing, singing, screen acting, scenic design, and stagecraft. She also earned an Irene Ryan nomination for her role in "The Diviners" and also quickly discovered her love for the screen.

During the summers of college, Rebekah was blessed with some amazing experiences. Rebekah came back to Dallas and she auditioned and landed the role of Jessie Oakley in "Annie Get your Gun". Rebekah also spent one summer in New Hampshire where she portrayed the roles Piglet in "Winnie The Pooh," Snow White in "Snow White," and The Queen in "Sleeping Beauty." Rebekah performed 6 musicals in 6 weeks and had a very short rehearsal period of a few days for each show. Then came the thrill of a lifetime when Rebekah was chosen to join a select group of students out of thousands of applicants to attend NYU's CAP 21 Musical Theatre Program in New York!

After graduating college with a B.A. in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Dance in 2006, Rebekah returned to Dallas where she continued to train, audition, and started teaching musical theatre to children. While continuing to share for love for the stage, Rebekah started to explore the world of film. She started to audition and quickly landed many roles in short films and indies, making friends and learning the business along the way. Rebekah's first supporting role in a feature came when she played the 17 year old Slutty Cheerleader in The High Schooler's Guide to College Parties (2010)

When 2010 hit, it quickly showed it would be a promising year. Soon came an amazing opportunity when Rebekah booked the principal role of 15-year-old Hanna in the SAG Feature film House Hunting (2010/I). Rebekah then wrapped Caroline in the Feature film, Blood Is Blood (2010) also known as "Lockjaw" that shot in Louisiana directed by Fred M. Andrews.

She also is also playing 17 year old Chrissy Holden in the teen horror webseries, "Throwing Stones" (2010) that is already gaining press and attention with Throwing Stones Productions.

Then came another wonderful oppportunity when she booked a supporting role in the feature Season of the Witch (2010). Rebekah is looking forward to playing 16 year old Faith Riley in the feature film, "The Book of Babylon" which will be shooting in Austin in October, 2010.

Rebekah is continuing to pursue her love for acting and is sharing her time between the screen and stage.

Rebekah is known for playing characters much younger than her actual age, in June 2008 portraying 12-year-old Cami and Corey in the World Premier of the play "Bloodletters" written by Tom Sime. In September playing the little Boy/Girl in the Dallas Premier of the Tony Nominated play, "The Pillowman" written by Martin McDonagh. Both roles she garnered rave reviews. Then in December 2008, she played Slasher in the British panto, "Little Red Riding Hood" and in April 2009 she played 16 year old Rachel in "To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday," receiving a review that called her an "extraordinary actor."
