Introduction

Tamara Lynn Witmer is an American model. She is best known for her appearance as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month – Miss August 2005 – and was also the cover model for the October 2006 issue. It is rare that Playboy has playmates on the cover; but from time to time, there is a dearth of mainstream celebrities willing to bare all, at which point, Hef’ has to go to his bullpen. Tamara’s outing in October of 2006 was recorded as a save.
Life story

Witmer was born in Valencia, California and her family relocated to Dublin, Ohio, where she spent her childhood. Apparently, she was destined to be in close proximity to outlet malls. She moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school, in order to begin her modeling career, as Dublin only offered a part time position at Hardee’s.

Prior to becoming a Playmate, she had been busy appearing on magazine covers (such as Fit Body and Physical), advertising campaigns, calendars, lingerie and swimwear catalogs. Men didn’t seem to be bothered by the unrealistic expectations Tamara’s body imposed on the collective female conscious. They just liked to watch.


They watched a lot of her in Lingerie Bowl 2005, which aired in February 2005 during halftime of Super Bowl XXIXX. Tamara was a lingerie-wearing tackle football player for the Los Angeles Temptation. The LA Temptation beat the New York Euphoria, who were apparently too busy being jubilant to play hardnosed football.


In February 2006, Witmer was featured as one of the models on the American version of the game show Deal or No Deal, and was a contestant on VH1’s Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. However, she was eliminated in the second episode. In May 2007, the New York Daily News reported that she had been seen with actor Bruce Willis. This may or may not have been part of the new reality competition, Which Would-be Starlet Will Bruce Willis Sleep With This Week to Get Back at Demi Moore?
