Beginning at a young age, in Wilmington, N.C., Charissa entered beauty pageants and won them. At the age of 7, was down to two girls for Drew Barrymore's double in "Firestarter". So very disappointed that she did not get the opportunity to work on the set, she shied away from acting for a while. Scared of failure, she stuck with marching miles in parades twirling baton, in North Carolina's number one baton club "The Cardinals". The trophies and metals piled up. She grew bored of parades and pageants. All the while dreaming of being a top model and an A list actress.
So in high school, she started acting once again in E. A. Laney High School drama club, the home of Michael Jordon. The passion for acting continued to grow and build. After graduating from high school she had her first daughter, Jasmine. Education is important to her so she tried college studing paralegal, but was truly unfulfilled. Upon dropping out, she applied at Hooters restaurant in Wilm, just to be in the magazines and calendars. One month after being hired, she had a test shoot and well needless to say she became the local celebrity by becoming one of Hooters International Spokesmodels overnight. Making national appearances, signing autographs for Hooters calendars, posters, playing cards, magazines, post cards, and trading cards. With that said,Charissa then officially became Miss Club Tan, where she represented the infamous and hottest tanning salon of Wilmington, NC called CLUB TAN RESORT. There she tanned and she also made appearances, signed autographs for the friends and fans on Bike Night, with SURF 107.5 . "Thanks Joe and Linda for always believing in me and supporting my career"! CHARISSA
Moving on, she modeled swimsuits for a number of swimsuit magazines. Biggest competition was Hawaiian Tropics national finals in Hawaii. Made top 12 for 95'. Traveled to shoot in many of the tropical islands.
Charissa also studied more acting at the actor's studio. Even studied master classes with Linda Lavin. (Linda played "Alice" on the television series "Mel's Diner".) Charissa was on the hit TV series "Matlock" and "American Gothic". Then took almost 3 years off to have her second child, Brianna. After being a wife and mother, and not fulfilling her passion, she grew eager and anxious to further her career. Unfortunately, the marriage failed and she and the girls moved to NYC in July 1999. She studied acting at the famous Uta Hagan's H.B. studios. Was on the Sopranos, etc.
Then moved to Los Angeles in Sept. 2000 to be a Spokesmodel on the X Show with Jullian Barbarie. Mystique Magazine was interested in shooting her in St. Croix while she was modeling for Swimsuit international. Mark Daughn did a test shoot and the fans loved her. They continued to hire her and became one of their top models. Mystique was her first pin up job. With their vision of sensuous photos of Charissa, Mystique helped her move more into the glamour/pin up modeling. Continuing to work for Mystique non exclusive, while she pushes forward for the next thing. Now does some work on Bold and the Beautiful and Young and Restless on CBS and General Hospital on ABC. Launching magazines like Mystique limited first edition, Controversy, and Stun, MXB ect..
