Dobó Kata, née Katalin Kovács (Győr,[1] 25 February 1974 -) is a Hungarian actress, director.
She was born Katalin Kovács in 1974 in Győr. Since her father was a military officer, the family moved around a lot. They lived in Kiev, Lenti and finally moved to Békásmegyer, Budapest.[2]
After graduation, he applied to the Faculty of Arts, but was not accepted. She wanted to stand on her own feet, so she worked as a secretary, for example. She applied for a modelling competition at a renowned fashion studio, where she was selected for their professional modelling course. She modelled for several magazines and then signed a contract in Germany, where she appeared in catalogues.[2]
In 1995, by a fluke (she thought she was going to a modeling contest), she was cast in the series The Unretired. Her real fame came in 1997 with the film The Minister Misleads, in which she played the role of Tündé Marosi.[2]
In 1997, she was admitted to the University of Theatre and Film Arts, where she deferred twice and only completed the first year. He later travelled to the United States and studied acting in Hollywood.[2]
In recent years, he has appeared as a guest at Karinthy Theatre, Pinceszínház, Játékszín and Atrium Film Theatre,[3] and between 2008 and 2014 he also performed at the Jókai Theatre in Békéscsaba.[4] In 2019, he made his debut as a film director with the film Köllolakás (The Rented House), which was seen by more than 150,000 people in Hungarian cinemas, making it the most-watched Hungarian film of 2019.
Her personal life
Her first husband was the actor Dávid Vermes, with whom she was married for only one year in 1997-98.[5] From 1998-2006, she was the partner of Andy Vajna.[6] She also lived with the master hairdresser László Hajas.[7][8] In 2012, she gave birth to a daughter, Szofi, whose father is the musician Levente Gulyás. [9][2] Their relationship ended in 2014.[10] She also had relationships with Gábor Bochkor and Zsolt Anger, an actor.[11] She lived with Tamás Zsidró from 2016-2019.[12][11][13] Between 2021-2022, she was partnered with Vajk Szente, a director.[14][15]
