Jamie-Lee Kriewitz (* 18. März 1998 in Springe) ist eine deutsche Popsängerin. Am 17. Dezember 2015 gewann sie die fünfte Staffel der Gesangs-Castingshow The Voice of Germany. Mit ihrem Titel Ghost gewann sie den deutschen Vorentscheid zum Eurovision Song Contest 2016 und soll Deutschland am 14. Mai 2016 im Finale in Stockholm vertreten.


Leben

Jamie-Lee Kriewitz stammt aus Bennigsen, einem Stadtteil der niedersächsischen Stadt Springe, und besucht in Hameln die Eugen-Reintjes-Schule im Bildungsgang Fachoberschule Gestaltung, in dem sie die Fachhochschulreife erlangen möchte. Ihr Vater ist Schlagzeuger, sie selbst trat mit zwölf Jahren dem Gospelchor Joyful Noise bei.

Auffällig an Kriewitz ist neben ihrer Stimme die Vorliebe für durch Manga-Figuren inspirierte Mode. In jeder Show von The Voice of Germany trat sie in einer anderen bunten Bekleidung und Kopfbedeckung im Decora-kei-Stil auf. Musikalisch und kulturell interessiert sie sich für K-Pop und Südkorea und gibt an, ein Studium der Koreanistik anzustreben. Kriewitz lebt seit einigen Jahren vegan.

Karriere

2015: The Voice of Germany

2015 nahm sie mit 17 Jahren als Schülerin an der fünften Staffel von The Voice of Germany teil. Mit ihrer Interpretation des Filmhits The Hanging Tree überzeugte sie in den Blind Auditions alle vier Coaches und schloss sich dem Team von Michi Beck und Smudo an. In den folgenden Runden wurde sie jeweils direkt von ihren Coaches weitergewählt und im Halbfinale war sie eine der vier Kandidatinnen und Kandidaten, die das Publikumsvoting gewannen. Im Finale trat sie mit der englischen Sängerin Jess Glynne sowie mit ihrem eigenen Song Ghost auf. Sie gewann die Show mit 38 % der Zuschauerstimmen, mit einem Vorsprung von mehr als 15 % vor dem Zweitplatzierten Ayke Witt, und ist die erste Siegerin, die bei ihrem Erfolg noch nicht volljährig war.

Der eigene Showsong Ghost war bereits in der Woche vor dem Finale veröffentlicht worden und erreichte als erfolgreichster Song der vier Finalisten Platz 59 der deutschen Charts Nach dem Finalsieg übernahm er Platz 1 der iTunes-Downloadcharts und kam nach einer Woche auf Platz 11 der deutschen Musikcharts.

2016: Eurovision Song Contest

Am 25. Februar 2016 nahm Kriewitz beim deutschen Vorentscheid Unser Lied für Stockholm teil. Mit ihrem Song Ghost – produziert von DJ Thomilla – gewann sie mit 44,5 % der Stimmen die Show und soll Deutschland am 14. Mai 2016 beim Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm vertreten. Nach ihrem Sieg erreichte der Song Platz 2 der iTunes-Downloadcharts und war bereits einen Tag später erneut in den deutschen Singlecharts vertreten.
