Jacinda Barrett (* 2. August 1972 in Brisbane, Queensland / Australien) ist eine australische Schauspielerin und ehemaliges Fotomodell.

Obwohl Jacinda Barrett aus Australien stammt, war es für sie ein leichtes, auch in amerikanischen Produktionen Rollen zu ergattern. Im Alter von ungefähr 20 Jahre, konnte man Barrett zum ersten Mal im US-Fernsehen bewundern. Damals trat sie in der MTV-Show „The Real World“ auf und begann somit ihre Karriere in der Film- und Fernsehbranche. Bevor es jedoch dazu kam, hatte Jacinda eigentlich ganz andere Pläne mit ihrem Leben. Bereits mit 17 Jahren zog sie von Zuhause aus, um die Welt als Model zu erkunden. Sie reiste rund um den Globus und bekam eigentlich immer irgendwelche Aufträge. Mit ihrem attraktiven Aussehen, brachte sie es in der Welt der Models weit nach oben. 1997 wurde sie von dem „People“-Magazin sogar zu einer der 50 hübschesten Leute der Welt gewählt.

Das Modeln war für Jacinda Barrett jedoch nicht Herausforderung genug, und so entschloss sie sich dazu, eine Karriere als Schauspielerin anzustreben. Ihr Leinwanddebüt feierte die Australierin 1997 mit dem Horrorstreifen „Campfire Tales - Geschichten vom Grabesrand“. Nach zwei weiteren sehr kleinen Auftritten im Kino, verabschiedete sich Jacinda Barrett allerdings vorerst von den Kameras und war nun häufiger im Fernsehen zu bewundern. Dort übernahm sie zahlreiche Rollen in verschiedenen TV-Serien. Meist waren dies nur Gastrollen, einige Male wurde sie jedoch auch als fester Charakter in die Serien integriert.

Nachdem Jacinda Barretts Filmkarriere nicht so richtig in Schwung kommen wollte, nahm die ganze Sache 2000 allerdings endlich eine Wende. Damals ergatterte sie eine kleinere Rolle in dem bekannten Horrorstreifen „Düstere Legenden 2“ und 2003 durfte sie einen etwas größeren Part in „Der menschliche Makel“ neben Nicole Kidman und Anthony Hopkins übernehmen. 2004 konnten wir Mrs. Barrett in der weiblichen Hauptrolle in dem Actionstreifen „Im Feuer“ bewundern – Ein großer Erfolg für Jacinda! 2006 wartete wieder ein kleines Highlight auf die talentierte Australierin. In Wolfgang Petersens Abenteuerstreifen „Poseidon“ gehörte sie zu den Hauptdarstellern. Außerdem war sie in der melancholischen Komödie "Der letzte Kuss" neben Zach Braff zu sehen.
Am 29. Dezember 2004 heiratete sie den Schauspieler Gabriel Macht.
