Melissa Ortiz Gomez

Melissa Ortiz-Gomez wurde am 5. September 1982 in Hamburg geboren. Bereits im Kindesalter erhielt sie ersten Ballettunterricht in ihrer Heimatstadt. Die Begeisterung und der Trainingseifer der kleinen Spanierin waren so groß, dass schnell deutlich wurde, dass Tanzen eine bedeutende Rolle in ihrem Leben spielen würde. Klar, dass Melissa als Tochter spanischer Eltern mit dem Flamencotanz begann. „Flamenco ist auch heute noch der Tanz und die Musik, die bei mir am meisten Gänsehaut hervorruft und mich in meinem Herzen am stärksten berührt“ sagt Melissa.

Im Alter von 12 Jahren begann Melissa schließlich mit dem Latein- und Standarttanzen und gewann gleich die erste Vereinsmeisterschaft im 1.SC. Norderstedt. Es folgten weitere Landesmeisterschaftstitel und Finalplätze auf Deutschen Meisterschaften in der Jugendklasse und als Höhepunkt die Teilnahme an den Weltmeisterschaften im Jahr 1999, bei denen sie sich einen Platz unter den ersten Zehn der Welt erkämpfte. „Der 7. Platz bei der Latein-Weltmeisterschaft in Wien (Österreich) war ein echter Lohn für die viele Arbeit, Disziplin und Geduld und einer der schönsten Momente in ihrem Tänzerleben.“ so Melissa.

Nach dem Abitur in Hamburg, zog es Melissa nach Madrid. Vier Jahre begleitete sie als Tänzerin den spanischen Popsänger David Civera auf seinen Tourneen durch ganz Spanien und übernahm die tänzerische Leitung für sämtliche Auftritte und Choreographien sowie Musikvideoclips und TV-Auftritte.

Im Jahr 2005 zog Melissa nach Los Angeles und ließ sich dort von renommierten Choreographen, wie Marty Kudelka und Dante, im Bereich Hip Hop und Jazz fortbilden. 2006 kehrte sie nach Deutschland zurück und erhielt sofort ein TV-Engagement bei „Dancestar 2006“ des Musiksenders VIVA. Mit ihre beeindruckenden Leistungen in den Bereichen Jazz, Hip Hop und Salsa erreichte Melissa das Finale
