Ulla Kock am Brink (* 10. Juli 1961 als Ursula Eva Maria Kock am Brink in Mülheim an der Ruhr) ist eine deutsche Fernsehmoderatorin.

Biografie

Kock am Brink wuchs als Tochter einer Arztfamilie in Bottrop auf, wo sie auch das Abitur machte. Sie studierte dann in Bonn von 1981 bis 1984 Sozialwissenschaft, Germanistik und Spanisch, ab 1984 dann Sonderpädagogik in Köln. Eigentlich wollte sie Journalistin oder Lehrerin werden.[1] Während des Studiums arbeitete sie nebenberuflich bei diversen Sendungen des WDR mit und wurde dabei von Jürgen von der Lippe, Rudi Carrell und John de Mol für das Fernsehen entdeckt.

Von 1989 bis 2001 moderierte Ulla Kock am Brink diverse Gameshows und andere Fernsehsendungen, u. a. Verzeih mir (RTL, 1992–1993), die Glücksritter (RTL, 1996–1997), Die 100.000 Mark Show (RTL, 1993–1998, die Lotto-Show (ARD, 1998–2001), die Gala Ein Herz für Kinder (ARD) und die Verleihung des Deutschen Fernsehpreises. Ihr Versuch, auf Pro 7 eine eigene Personality-Show zu etablieren, scheiterte nach nur zwei Monaten an zu geringen Einschaltquoten. Im Jahr 2000 wechselte Kock am Brink zum ZDF und moderierte das aus Amerika übernommene Format Cash. Seit 2004 moderierte Ulla Kock am Brink zusammen mit Jörg Thadeusz die Talkshow Leute am Donnerstag im Fernsehprogramm des rbb. Die Sendung wurde im März 2005 aufgrund anhaltend schlechter Einschaltquoten eingestellt.

Ende April 2010 kehrte Kock am Brink ins Fernsehen zurück. Sie moderiert in Sat.1 seit dem 30. April 2010 die neue Spielshow Die perfekte Minute in vorerst 2 Staffeln. Außerdem moderiert sie in Sat.1 seit dem 6. Mai 2011 die neue Familienshow "Der Bastelkönig".

Privatleben

Schlagzeilen machte Ulla Kock am Brink, als sie mit dem Fernsehproduzenten Theo Baltz, Ehemann von Sabine Christiansen, eine Beziehung begann und dieser sich schließlich von Christiansen trennte. 2003 heirateten die beiden und blieben ein Paar, bis am 16. März 2010 bekannt wurde, dass die Ehe nach sieben gemeinsamen Jahren gescheitert war.
