Amy Louise Acker (* 5. Dezember 1976 in Dallas, Texas) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin, die insbesondere durch ihre Rolle in der Fernsehserie Angel – Jäger der Finsternis bekannt wurde.


Acker studierte an der Southern Methodist University drei Jahre lang Schauspiel und machte dort 1999 ihren Abschluss. Nebenbei spielte sie in Theaterstücken.

2001 erschien sie erstmals in der Serie Angel – Jäger der Finsternis in der Rolle der Winifred „Fred“ Burkle, einer in einer mittelalterlichen Dämonendimension gefangenen, hochintelligenten Studentin, die von Angel und seinem Team gerettet wird und später zu einer wichtigen Mitarbeiterin wird.

2003 gewann Acker den Saturn Award, für den sie auch 2002, als der Award an Alyson Hannigan ging, und 2005 nominiert war. 2002 wirkte sie in einer Nebenrolle an dem Steven-Spielberg-Film Catch Me If You Can mit.

Nach dem Ende von Angel arbeitete sie in verschiedenen anderen Serien (u. a. ein Gastauftritt in Supernatural) und kleineren Filmproduktionen mit. In der fünften und letzten Staffel von Alias – Die Agentin spielte sie die Rolle der Kelly Peyton.

Sonstiges

Acker ist die Tochter eines Rechtsanwalts. Sie hat drei jüngere Geschwister und ist seit 2003 mit dem Schauspieler James Carpinello (u. a. The Punisher) verheiratet. Die beiden haben seit 2005 einen gemeinsamen Sohn Jackson James und seit dem 1. September 2006 eine Tochter Ava Grace.
