Waris Dirie (* 1965 in der Region von Gaalkacyo, Somalia) ist ein ehemaliges Mannequin, Fotomodell und war UN-Sonderbotschafterin (1997–2003) gegen die Beschneidung von Frauen und Mädchen. Sie ist heute als Schriftstellerin tätig. Sie ist österreichische Staatsbürgerin.
