Charisma Lee Carpenter (* 23. Juli 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA) ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin.

Leben

Bereits im frühen Alter von fünf Jahren begann sie klassisches Ballett zu tanzen. Als Jugendliche nahm sie an mehreren kleineren Schönheitswettbewerben teil.

Sie heiratete am 5. Oktober 2002 Damian Hardy und die beiden bekamen im März 2004 ihren Sohn Donovan Charles. Auf Grund ihrer unvorhergesehenen Schwangerschaft mussten die Drehbücher der vierten Angel-Staffel stark überarbeitet werden.

Karriere

Ein Werbeagent entdeckte sie während ihrer Collegezeit beim Kellnern in einem Restaurant in Los Angeles. Später war sie in mehr als zwanzig Werbespots zu sehen. Ihre erste kleine Fernsehrolle spielte sie in der bekannten Serie Baywatch mit David Hasselhoff. Sehr bekannt wurde sie in der Rolle der Cordelia Chase in der Serie Buffy – Im Bann der Dämonen bzw. dem Buffy-Spin-Off Angel – Jäger der Finsternis. Nach ihrem Ausstieg bei Angel war sie in mehreren Folgen der Alicia-Silverstone-Serie Miss Match sowie 2004 in drei Episoden der Serie Charmed zu sehen, die sie auch gleich mit einem Serientod wieder verließ. Anschließend wirkte sie – wie Buffy-Kollegin Alyson Hannigan – in der Serie Veronica Mars mit.

* Charisma Carpenter wurde von ihrer Mutter nach einer Parfümmarke benannt. Angeblich soll sie ihren Namen gehasst haben und wollte immer nur „Chrissy“ genannt werden.
* Carpenter will nicht, dass ihre Autogramme bei eBay versteigert werden. Deshalb unterschreibt sie nur persönlich und hat keine Fan-Karten mit vorgedruckten Unterschriften.
* Sie unterschreibt keine freizügigen Bilder von ihr aus FHM oder Maxim.
* Sie gehört zu den wenigen Schauspielern, die bei Conventions von Angel oder Buffy kein Geld für ihre Autogramme verlangen.
* Carpenter nahm das Angebot des US-Playboys an und zog sich für diesen im Juni 2004 aus.
