"Olga Kurylenko (ukrainisch Ольга Куриленко, * 14. November 1979 in Berdjansk), ist eine ukrainische Schauspielerin und Model.

Als Kind geschiedener Eltern wuchs Olga Kurylenko unter ärmlichen Bedingungen auf. Im Alter von 13 Jahren wurde sie in der U-Bahn in Moskau von einem Model-Scout entdeckt.[1] Ein Umzug nach Paris folgte, wo sie Kunst studierte. Zahlreiche renommierte Modelaufträge folgten, unter anderem für die Titelseiten von Elle und Vogue und für Werbekampagnen von Bebe und Clarins.[2]

Ihre Film-Karriere begann sie 2005 in Frankreich. Gleich für ihre erste große Rolle im Liebesfilm L'Annulaire (dt. Der Ringfinger) wurde sie 2006 beim Brooklyn International Film Festival ausgezeichnet. Des Weiteren war sie bislang in den viel beachteten Filmen Paris, je t'aime (2006) sowie Hitman – Jeder stirbt alleine (2007) zu sehen. Entgegen manch anders lautenden Gerüchten, hat Kurylenko die Nacktszenen in Hitman selbst gespielt, wie auch in ihrem Filmdebüt Der Ringfinger.[3]

Im James-Bond-Film Ein Quantum Trost (2008) spielte Kurylenko das Bond-Girl Camille.

Olga Kurylenko war mit dem französischen Modefotografen Cedric Van Mol verheiratet. Die 1999 geschlossene Ehe wurde jedoch nach dreieinhalb Jahren wieder geschieden.[4] Ihre zweite Ehe mit dem Unternehmer Damian Gabriel Neufeld wurde Ende 2007 ebenfalls wieder geschieden.[5]

In ostslawischen Ländern löst die zunehmende Bekanntheit Kurylenkos ein geteiltes Echo aus. So wandte sich eine Gruppe Kommunisten aus Sankt Petersburg in einem offenen Brief an die Schauspielerin und bezeichnete sie als „Deserteurin der slawischen Welt“, sowie als „verirrte Tochter der unglücklichen Ukraine“. Kritisiert wird eine Anbiederung an die USA und „moralischer Verrat“, vor allem aufgrund ihrer Rolle in Ein Quantum Trost. Rückendeckung und positive Resonanz erhält Olga Kurylenko jedoch in Berdjansk, ihrer ukrainischen Heimatstadt, wo Bürgermeister Anatolij Stephanenko offen bekundet, er sei „stolz auf den Star Kurylenko“.[6]"
