Erste Jahre

Geboren wurde sie als Concettina Ree Principale. Sie ist die ältere von zwei Töchtern des amerikanischen Air Force-Sergeants Victor Principale und seiner Frau Bertha Ree Veal. Auf Grund der häufiger wechselnden Einsatzorte ihres Vaters wuchs sie u. a. in London, Florida, Puerto Rico, Massachusetts und Georgia auf. Im Alter von fünf Jahren wirkte sie das erste Mal in einem Werbespot mit. Auf der Highschool begann sie zu modeln. Mit 19 Jahren wurde sie zur Miss Miami gewählt. Danach ging sie nach New York, wo sie als Mannequin und Schauspielerin arbeitete. Im Jahre 1970 posierte sie nackt für den Playboy und drehte danach einige Pornofilme.

Filmkarriere

Ihre erste Filmrolle hatte sie 1972 in Paul Newmans Film "Das war Roy Bean" (The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean). 1973 folgte "The naked Ape" in dem sie oben ohne auftrat. Der große Durchbruch gelang ihr 1974 in "Erdbeben" (Earthquake). Nach weiteren kleinen Rollen spielte sie von 1978 bis 1987 ihre wohl bekannteste Rolle als Pamela Barnes Ewing in der Fernsehserie Dallas.

Erwähnenswertes

In den frühen 1980ern hatte Principal Beziehungen zum Sänger Andy Gibb. Sie war seit 1985 mit dem bekannten amerikanischen Schönheitschirurgen Harry Glassman verheiratet. Die Ehe wurde im Dezember 2006 wegen "unüberbrückbarer Differenzen" geschieden.
