Carolina Klüft

Carolina Klüft (Carolina Evelyn Klüft; * 2. Februar 1983 in Sandhult, Gemeinde Borås) ist eine schwedische Leichtathletin und Olympiasiegerin im Siebenkampf.

Außer im Siebenkampf, in dem sie neben dem olympischen Wettbewerb drei WM- und zwei EM-Titel gewann und den aktuellen Europarekord aufstellte, ist bzw. war sie in den Disziplinen Fünfkampf, Weitsprung und Dreisprung aktiv. Seit dem März 2002 gewann sie alle ihre Mehrkämpfe.

Sie galt als Favoritin für die Olympischen Spiele 2008 in Peking, gab aber am 18. März 2008 bekannt, nicht im Siebenkampf antreten zu wollen.[1] Sie habe Lust auf etwas neues, gab sie als Begründung an. Sie erhoffe sich auch weniger Erschöpfung und weniger Mediendruck. Sie wolle sich stattdessen künftig auf die Disziplinen Weit– und Dreisprung konzentrieren, in denen sie sich dann auch tatsächlich für die Spiele qualifizierte.
